hooray for the happiest (or hottest and most crowded) place on earth! this was remi's first ever time and brads first time as a parent. this was also my first time at california adventure!
we kicked off disney with the ever famous small world & thunder mtn., then headed to ca adventure and did the cars ride (jenners favorite), little mermaid and some other main attractions.
we did the parent pass, which is a must do if you have a small child. so jenner got to go on all the rides x2... which he mostly only wanted to go on the cars ride x2 the rest he begged me not to make him... which you can imagine my response to that... needless to say jenner got to enjoy all the rides more than once ;-).
from there we headed out for a little long car ride. 4 hours later we arrived in pasa robles at a beautiful lake house that audra had set up for us. us along with their family and grandma + papa, willy and company stayed there for the next 3 days.
this year is i think wills 4th time competing in the wildflower ti - the last time we came to watch i was pregnant with remi gal. I remember all the walking and dirt so this year we came prepared with good shoes, stroller and plenty of water!
willy works so hard thru out the year to prepare for this event. its a grueling event with a long swim, long bike and then a half marathon run. it would take me close to two weeks to complete this challenge...
the morning of the event we catch a bus, a somewhat scary bus with a fast bus driver... no carseats or seatbelts, just holding on tight and maybe closing your eyes.
the first one in and out of the water was willy of course.
the second in and out of the water was caden! I felt this overwhelming emotion seeing him... he is wise beyond his years, more wisdom and knowledge than most adults. setting a goal, stepping up to the challenge. he rocked it like a full grown man. really just so proud of him.
on sunday jeffery competed in his olympic triathlon.
we did a lot of this...
we headed home on monday nice and early. we took the long way home - stopping by some beaches along the way, planning our next year vacations which for sure includes a stay at pismo beach!
and for a mothers day first. this is my first mothers day having a child in school. jenners EAK class did a muffins with moms... it was a tear welling mothers day first for sure.
on actual mothers day we started the day off with a hike up cowles mtn, yes this is the kind of thing i want to do on mothers day...
some other highlights include
an end to baseball, which jenner LOVED. he got quite good at hitting and fielding - he still has no idea what to do with the ball when it comes to him but otherwise... bravo job
we went on a Zoo field trip with his EAK class, and even rode the bus... next to his best buddy
Remi practiced swinging in her brothers clothes, jumping on the trampoline...
this girl will spend hours in the bathroom, getting into lotion, wipes, hair spray - any and everything. she also likes to flush stuff down the toilet, including toys and pacifiers... the pacifier flush turned out to be a good thing. after that she never used one again! which i was dreading taking from her - so thank the lord on that one!
Remi also preparing for her Big Show Day at dance!!! she isn't quite there yet... but hopefully she will participate...
