after completing my gals homework station i thought it only fair to do a boys back to school redo also...
below are some combo's i love that work perfect for a boy's homework station... making their area clean and fun with pops of color will make them happier homeworkers... or it will make you happier when you have to repeatedly check to make sure they are doing their homework... either way.

sense my little guy starts kindergarten this year (eeeeek) I thought he should get his own working space, somewhere private and quiet where his sisters antics can be limited... i set out to redo his room and give him just that... a homemade station with metal and wood and i LOVE how it turned out...
having a "pipe fitting" husband has for the first time ever, paid off... all those days of smelling like grease in his overalls (which are mostly hideous), with dirty hair and messy boots has finally paid off...
he designed what i wanted via CAD (with minimal changes from me) using scrap pipe he cut, cleaned and spray painted all the pipe. we purchased butcher block wood at home depot which was the most expensive portion of this project, but its also the most important. the shelves and desk needed to look substantial and the thick wood gave it just that look i wanted.
our new homework station combos as a tv, game & storage area. the tv is mounted on a swivel so there is plenty of desk space and the tv can be pulled out for when he has company.
I got the metal stools at target (2 for $80) and i think they are the perfect addition.
he has a small room with no storage so the extra shelves came in handy. I was able to move some books and puzzles out of the office area and into his room.
sense we have no storage i hang pretty much everything... bikes, helmets and anything else i can find!
