dogs named krispy or jack, either way {a big bear adventure}

we made the weekend trip up to big bear, which is like brads favorite place ever... winter or summer, its his favorite.  he mostly wanted to go so that he could mtn bike and i mostly wanted to go for a family bike ride around the lake.  we arrived late thursday night after about an hour to long of a car ride.  remi's max in a car is somewhere between 2 and 3 hours.   iPads and audible can only capture one girls attention for so long.

thursday morning we awoke in need of coffee, very much in need... we headed to a breakfast spot that had literally the largest pancakes ever seen to man.  (i should have captured a pic) from there we headed to boulder bay... boulder bay is beautiful year round but its mostly stunning in the summer.  filled with paddle boarders, fisherman, kayaks and all things i love.

 {i have this love of the outdoors and just seeing people enjoying it.  it doesn't have to be me on a paddle board in order to appreciate the beauty of it.}

after catching no fish.  we headed over to snow summit for the mtn biking adventure.  remi and i took one for the team relaxing at a park bench while jenner and brad rode.  we found fun bears to take pictures with, this is rems smile face...

and a cute frisbee dog that remi named "Krispy" and i added "Kreme" to.  Krispy Kreme was doing jump backflips and catching the frisbee and each time remi and i clapped and cheered... we later found out his name was "jack"... the good news about that is, we now have a name for when we get a cute little dog.

jenner had endless energy riding this little track, while his dad headed up the mtn for a little bit more technical fun.

after the mtn bike riding we headed back to the cabin, jacuzzied, showered and headed to dinner... tired from the long day we were in and out of dinner and off to bed.

saturday we awoke and headed back to the north shore for my end of the deal... a family bike ride.  I found a bike trail that was beautiful, everything i imagined it to be.  the biking however was a little harder that i expected!

the north shore of big bear is sheer beauty. it has the little lake town feel that i haven't experienced in big bear.  we are always in the hustle and bustle of big bear and i am just so happy we explored that side. its a must do from now on.

after biking we headed back to snow summit where i dropped off brad and jenner to do some more bike riding while remi and i headed to the village.  the village is so cute and actually had some really cute stores.  stores i could have spent a small fortune at!  they were hosting the tour de big bear and the village was the finish line... there were loads of people and bikers and just good energy that comes with those kind of accomplishments.

remi and i got ice cream and caramel apples and explored. after a while we headed back to the mtn to relieve brad of watch jenner  ride the track over and over duty.

when the boys were ready to go we headed back to the cabin for a little more jacuzzi and clean up.

I would say this by far was my favorite trip to big bear.  the calm and beauty were really just so refreshing.  we enjoyed the outdoors and the beautiful weather.  and the drive back home wasn't nearly as bad as the drive there...
